"We are only as sick as

Patrick Carnes |
Achieving a good marriage is very hard work. Sometimes
it is necessary to seek help for conflict resolution to
move beyond either a cold or hot war. It is important
to work with a marriage therapist who believes that
every relationship has the potential for improvement.

"In every marriage more than a
week old, there are grounds for divorce. The trick is
to find and continue to find grounds for marriage."

Medical Family Therapist
Tatiana is a caring,
insightful and creative Marriage and Family Therapist. She
loves working with people. Medical
issues, relationship difficulties and past childhood abuse
are the three major parts of her therapeutic
practice. However, she is able to help people who are
working through multiple other
problems. She has both professional and personal
experience in many areas of life. Being a
Medical advocate for people
experiencing illness and disease and their families is truly
a passion of hers. She comes alongside those
experiencing medical difficulties giving them the tools they
need to become their own advocate while they grieve the loss
of their health and lifestyle. As a marriage therapist,
she uses her knowledge and experience to help couples and
families faced the difficulties in life and its trials. The
couples and families, who have worked with her, have found
her insights and understanding helpful in resolving their
problems. Many people in life walk around struggling with
childhood abuse issues. These issues are very familiar to
Tatiana and she loves to explore and assist clients to
overcome the struggles that abuse has created in their
lives. Being a Marriage and Family Therapist is truly an
honor and delight for her. She does not take her role
lightly and counts it a privilege when clients come to her
for therapy. She has earned her Masters of Arts in
Counseling Psychology at Southern California Seminary and a
Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. This
combination of two majors are just an example of her “down
to earth” approach to life along with her sensitive
understanding nature. |

Philosophy Statement
Lindsay received both her
Masters in Counseling and Bachelor of Psychology degrees
from George Fox University. She has been working in the
mental health field for over 7 years and has spent the
majority of this time working within hospital settings where
she provides counseling services to teens and adults.
Although Lindsay tends to use a cognitive-behavioral
approach, she is flexible and a bit eclectic depending on
the needs of the client. The goal in all situations is for
the client to feel enhanced satisfaction and fulfillment as
his or her needs are met in ways that are healthy and
respectful to everyone involved. Lindsay’s strengths and
interests are in working with
adolescents and adults to decrease
depression and
anxiety, enhance
communication
skills, build
self-esteem, improve boundaries,
deepen relationships, overcome traumas, and
live in a way that is consistent with
one’s values. |

Communication and being able to understand
what your partner is trying to say, is one of the essential
requirements for a strong and healthy marriage. This is
especially true when the partners are from different
"cultures" or family systems. When communication starts
breaking down, the relationship suffers. I can help you
work on learning how bring open, honest, and caring
communication back into your relationship.
Furthermore, When disability enters a family, we often are
unsure how to act/react. How do we help the disabled member
without over protection? How can we determine the disabled
member's place in the family? How can the person contribute
to the family? I have been blind since birth. As a
specialist in both Rehabilitation Counseling and Marriage
and Family Therapy, I can help your family figure out how to
integrate the disabled member into the family so he or she
can be a full participant rather than someone who is either
overprotected, isolated, or overly manipulative of the
family.
